Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is welcoming a new member to Joystiq
You may have noticed a shiny new name floating around our bylines today, true believers, and no, you are not suffering from amnesia nor are you the subject of a cruel life/reality simulation program. That name you see, “Mike Suszek,” belongs to none other than our brand new, pine-fresh Weekend Editor, Mike Suszek.
This means that you’ll be seeing a lot less of Jess Conditt and myself during the next couple of weekends as Mike settles into his new position, with the eventual goal being for Mike to take over the weekends entirely before too long.
Yes, that includes the Weekly Webcomic Wrapup, but we’ve still got at least one more weekend together, my darling readers. Come, let us cherish our remaining time together by reading these webcomics from last week, and voting for our favorites after the break.
Your Money or Your Life (Brawl in the Family)
The Deepest Pit of Hell (Virtual Shackles)
It takes a village (Extra Life)
Too Late (Nerf Now!!)
Masking Jape (Awkward Zombie)
Silence is Golden (GameOver Nation)
Deuce Duel (Hejibits)
You must win, my love (Magical Game Time)
Potion Purée (The Gamer Cat)

Pros: In that the drive was on a special, the price was very faovrable for a 1.5TB drive. Cons: The drives are green meaning lower power and slower, but I knew that going in. I ordered 2 and both were DOA. The packaging appeared to be fine but the drives would not initialize. When power was applied I could feel the case and sense the spinup, but the drives began to beep approximately every second or so. After about 10 seconds the drives would power down; hence unable to format, etc. Tried internal and external installations on two different computers. Returned to NewEgg for replacement. Other Thoughts: I am not inclined to order hard drives on the internet as the reviews always show a high DOA/return rate and I don’t want to be involved in the usual problems associated with shipping back and forth to a internet source or manufacturer. In this case I contacted NewEgg, explained the situation, they setup the return, re-shipped replacements in a timely manner, and the replacement drives are working as advertised. Even though the final resolution was satisfactory, I rated the drives as 3 Egg because the first shipment was 100% unsatisfactory as the drives were both DOA. I have never returned anything through the internet and I must state this experience has given me a comfortable feeling using NewEgg.
